A post-structuralist view of ‘Organic Language’

Comments on Part 1: The Sometimes ... Word Book by a class of 9 & 10 year olds in a NSW country school.

I have included pictures of three of the hand-written reviews. These kids were inspired to try creative handwriting themselves.

The book was fabulous because of the hidden words and the words what showed the pictures of the meaning.

Spectacular

It was spectacular. It had our attention the whole time. It was even better because we have to find the word every page.

4W age 10
I think it was spectacular even I didn’t see the pictures. I still liked it. It was good and educational. Jay

It was exciting because you have to try and guess what the words might be.

My Reaction
I thought the book was AMAZING, because the pictures are magnificent, and you never know what’s going to come next! And for a first time, your pictures were beautiful especially when you were doing by hand.
WELL DONE.

I think that your pictures are eye catching and exquisite and are very educational. I think it would be a good idea to keep it up because I was so amazed and I am sure that other people in the world would love your fabulous pictures.

It was EXCELLENT!! Because it was so interesting and when you looked at one page I can’t wait to see the next. Your book was very good for your first book and if you write other one I wish to see it.

It was spectacular because you never know what’s coming next. The good thing about the book was you had to figure out the word. By someone aged 10 and in 4W

I style this review as ‘post-structuralist’ but it speaks for itself.

Organic Language 23/12/18

Presupposes a human universality of thought.

Cut deeper it presumes that thought is represented by words, and deeper still, that there is sanctuary in meaning, rather than infinite, vacuous relativity.

Words are often bent to the burden of economic expediencies.

That the pursuit of profit is Correct, and that Correctness is related to Truth, overwhelms the meta discourse of contemporary Production.

Stripped bare of their earthly origins, words, in sterile definition, have become, obstacles that our thoughts must surmount, rather than a spontaneous expression of them. Organic Language assumes this and attempts to deconstruct it.

The theory is complex, the remedy, is immediately at hand.

The panacea is quiet, subjective contemplation.

It is also the project of Organic Language to research the connection between words and the tactile gravity that connects the contemplation of thought with physical organic tissue and the subsequent production of phonic material, ie voice.

More, it questions the who and the what of the original speaker.

Who or What Speaks ?

That is the question.
